Oracle Day 2005 - May 9

Building on the success of Oracle Day 2004 Index is pleased to announce Oracle Day 2005

Join Gary Goodman, Cary Millsap, Dan Tow, Manh-Kiet Yap and others on May 9 for this one-day event sponsored by Index Software Solutions and Consulting, dedicated to issues of Oracle system performance. Oracle Day 2005 is held in co-operation with the Icelandic Oracle Users Group (FONI).

Speakers

Gary Goodman is a co-founder of hotsos.com. Gary has authored articles about the methodology of performance tuning in addition to teaching classes developed by Hotsos, bringing the Hotsos PD101 class to Iceland in June 2003. Gary spoke at Oracle Day 2004.

Cary Millsap co-founded Hotsos with Gary Goodman in 1999. Cary is a researcher, software developer and performance analyst at hotsos.com. He is the principal author of Optimizing Oracle Performance, several Hotsos educational events, and several papers available at hotsos.com. Cary is one of the co-founders of the Oak Table Network. Cary participated in Oracle Day 2004.

Dan Tow works as an independent consultant under the banner of SingingSQL (www.singingsql.com). He is the author of SQL Tuning, a book detailing an effective method that Dan has developed to optimize the performance of SQL code. The method is interesting for many reasons, including the fact that it works for Oracle, SQL Server and DB2.

Manh-Kiet Yap is a Principal Product Manager at Oracle. He speaks regularly at Oracle OpenWorld and various Oracle User Groups in EMEA.

Magnús Kristjánsson is a product manager for TM Software Theriak. Magnús worked for 7 years for Oracle Norway and Oracle UK as a database technology and XML consultant. Magnús has given presentations at Oracle OpenWorld about XML support in Oracle on two occasions.
